PATH Intl. Registered Head Instructor: Amanda Huber began
with Breaking Free as a side walker and horse leader shortly after our
opening in 2008. After two seasons of volunteering, she began showing
her interest in becoming a riding instructor. She saw her dream come
true when she received her instructor certification in the fall of
2011.Since then she has helped guide 4 additional instructors through
their certifications while working primarily with our Veterans and
Beginner Lesson programs.
PATH Intl.Registered Instructor: Lee McGee an avid horse lover began with Breaking Free as a side walker and horse leader. She could not believe when she began that she was going to live that life long dream of working with horses and special needs. The connection our students have with their equine friend showed Lee her calling in life.
PATH Intl. Registered Instructor: Megan Shaw began volunteering with Breaking Free our second year in operation as a side walker and horse leader. Since then she has helped in the office as the secretary, been a member of the board and currently serves as Assistant Director. After 5 years of volunteering she began working on gaining her PATH registration and in October 2014 joined our instructor team as a PATH Registered Instructor.
PATH Intl. Registered Instructor: Theresa Krupa began volunteering with
Breaking Free in 2013 shortly after adopting Penny, a retired Breaking
Free horse, for her daughter. Theresa and her husband
Eric are proud parents of 5 children, 4 of which have special needs. Growing
up with horses and finding her own therapy in spending time with these
magnificent animals, Breaking Free was a great opportunity to combine her
love of horses with her desire to help children with special needs.
Theresa received her PATH Registered Instructor certification in January,
PATH Intl. Equine Specialist in Mental Health & Learning: Courtney Blaney has been working with horses since she rescued her own mare at
the age of 12 and has had a special connection to them ever since. She
started volunteering at Breaking Free in 2013 as a horse feeder. She
loves getting to know each horses' unique personality. She is also the
volunteer coordinator and achieved her Equine Specialist in Mental
Health and Learning certification in 2017. Sharing her passion for
horses with the participants is a dream come true!
