In 2022, we were awarded a grant from the "J.W & M.H. Straker Foundation" to construct a great room/viewing area to help keep our students comfortable before and after classes as well as holding events, camps, meetings, volunteer training classes among a variety of functions.

In 2023 " The J.M & M.H. Straker Foundation" came back with a second grant alongside "Belmont County Board Of Developmental Disabilities" that allowed us to construct an addition to the great room which gives us our first ADA Restroom, storage room, and large office space.

This year, 2024, "Belmont County Board of Developmental Disabilities", awarded us a partnership grant that has allowed us to order "The Equicizer Wooden Horse" for helping our students train before getting on a real horse, and also to purchase much needed adaptive tack.

In 2021 we received a grant from: "The Muskingum Community Foundation" for our safe entry construction. We were able to add a concrete patio entry for wheelchairs and imbalanced students drop-off. This year, 2024, 'The Muskingum County Community Foundation' returned with the continuation grant of the safe entryway with funds to pour a pad to park handicap buses and vehicles to complete the safe entering of our facility.

Donors & Sponsors

As Breaking Free TRC is a non-profit we rely on donations from our generous partners.

You can support Breaking Free in a variety of ways:

  • Financial Support - whether you want to send a one time donation or become a monthly/yearly sponsor of Breaking Free your donations will help make a difference in children's lives.

  • Horse Donation - most of our therapy horses have been donated to the center. All horses have a 6 week trial evaluation at the center before we accept them as part of our program. You can contact us if you have a horse you are considering for donation

  • Wish list Donation - it takes a lot of supplies from tack to feed to office supplies to educational materials to run our program. Please visit our Wishlist link for in-kind donations needed.

  • Time Donation - one of the greatest things to donate is TIME, it not only gives so much to the students but the volunteer in return is greatly blessed. Please visit our Volunteers page to see how you can joint our Breaking Free team.

In Kind Donation

In order to sustain our program, contributions are needed to assure that the dreams of our special need equestrians are met. Your contributions will go directly to the operations of our therapy program. Please Contact us at: 740-995-9395 IF YOU WISH TO MAKE A DONATION OR CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTION!

REAL ESTATE, HORSES, ASSETS, WILLS, LIVING TRUSTS, PLANNING GIVING

Contributing land, horses, or valuable assets will help ensure that Breaking Free Programs can serve the community for many years to come.

HORSES

Donation of horses that meet our program criteria are welcome. Our team or Instructors will evaluate your horse for a 60 day period to determine if they possess the unique characteristics essential to becoming a Breaking Free therapy horse.
