Our instructors are PATH Certified Registered Riding Instructors or a PATH IT who must complete training and testing to become certified. They also complete continuing education hours annually. PATH's training standards ensure our instructors are highly trained and follow strict guidelines for the safety of our participants, volunteers, and equine partners.

Courtney Blaney has been working with horses since she rescued her own mare at the age of 12 and has had a special connection to them ever since. She started volunteering at Breaking Free in 2013 as a horse feeder. She loves getting to know each horses' unique personality. She is also the volunteer coordinator and achieved her Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning certification in 2017 and her PATH Registered Riding Instructor in 2019. Sharing her passion for horses with the participants is a dream come true!
