BREAKING FREE THERAPEUTIC RIDING CENTER

PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Registered Instructor: Lee McGee is an avid horse lover and began with Breaking Free as a side walker and horse leader. She could not have guessed when she began that she was going to live that life long dream of working with horses and special needs children. The connection our students showed with their equine partners, encouraged Lee to pursue her passion and receive her certification.
PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor: Meg Shaw began volunteering with Breaking Free our second year in operation as a side walker and horse leader. Since then she has helped in the office as the secretary, been a member of the board and currently serves as Assistant Director. After 5 years of volunteering she began working on gaining her PATH registration and in October 2014 joined our instructor team as a PATH Registered Instructor and in 2020 transitioned to the PATH CTRI where she teaches therapeutic lessons, beginner lessons and works with our Veterans.
PATH Intl. Equine Specialist in Mental Health & Learning AND PATH Registered Instructor: Courtney Blaney has been working with horses since she rescued her own mare at the age of 12 and has had a special connection to them ever since. She started volunteering at Breaking Free in 2013 as a horse feeder. She loves getting to know each horses' unique personality. She is also the volunteer coordinator and achieved her Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning certification in 2017 and her PATH Registered Riding Instructor in 2019. Sharing her passion for horses with the participants is a dream come true!
